Hallelujah for Help

The pilgrim’s confidence is not in the road he walks, but in the Lord who walks with him.

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”
— Psalm 121:1–2

Life is a journey. And it is not always smooth. The road bends. The terrain shifts. The weather changes. There are valleys, shadows, pressures, and moments when the heart whispers one simple word — help.

Psalm 121 is a traveler’s song. A pilgrim ascending toward Jerusalem lifts his eyes and declares something that steadies his soul: “My help cometh from the LORD.” Not from the hills themselves — but from the God who made the hills.

And that changes everything.

THE PERSONAL NATURE OF OUR HELP

Notice the language: “My help.”

Not just help. Not theoretical help. Not someone else’s help.
My help.

The same God who was with Noah, Moses, David, Elijah, and Paul is present with you. You may feel overlooked by people, but you are never unknown to God. He knows your name. He sees your burden. He hears your whisper.

This help is personal.

THE POWER OF OUR HELP

“My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”

Think about that. The One who spoke creation into existence is the same One who stands ready to support you. The stars, the oceans, the mountains — all formed by His word.

If He made heaven and earth, He can handle your problem.

Money fails. Strength weakens. Plans collapse.
But creation itself testifies: our God is greater.

THE PERSEVERANCE OF OUR HELP

“He that keepeth thee will not slumber… The LORD shall preserve thee… from this time forth, and even for evermore.”

God does not grow weary. He does not nap. He does not lose focus. He does not abandon His pilgrims midway through the journey.

The same hand that saved you is the hand that sustains you.
The same God who began the journey will see you safely home.

There is a cry for help in this world. And many are searching for it in places that cannot supply it. But the child of God does not cast his eyes downward in despair — he lifts them upward in faith.

When the burden is heavy…
When the way is dark…
When the strength is gone… My help cometh from the LORD.
