In 1972, Brother Bobby Roberson’s burden to help young people find direction in life became a reality. Just one year later, Gospel Light Baptist Church purchased Camp Virginian — 139½ acres tucked away in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains outside Hillsville, VA. From that moment on, God has used this place to shape lives, strengthen families, and set young people on a path toward Christ.
Gospel Light Christian Camp was founded to assist churches in evangelism and discipleship by giving juniors and teens a dedicated environment to grow in the Lord — grounded in sound doctrine and surrounded by godly influence.
Today, that mission is still alive and thriving. GLCC remains a place where the next generation can find direction, experience revival, and build a lasting foundation for their faith.
Two Junior weeks and one Teen week — each with special speakers bringing God’s Word all week long.
All-week camp-wide competition — games, rivalries, and bragging rights on the line every single day. It’s a blast, and campers live for it.
Swim time, ball fields, pickleball, frisbee golf, and courts across the property.
Singing and preaching every night in the tabernacle — where lives get changed.
Home-cooked meals and plenty of snacks keep campers fueled and happy all week.

I got saved on the back porch of the kitchen on July 13, 1978, and my daughter got saved right outside of the Tabernacle after a Wednesday night service in 2002.

Wow! I praise the Lord for all that He is doing at Gospel Light Christian Camp. For over fifty years, God has used this place tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains to shape lives, strengthen families, and — most importantly — save many souls. God is so good!
As we look ahead to “No Regrets” 2027, I am praying and asking God to do great and mighty things. We know He can! I am excited for what He has in store this summer — a week your camper will never forget. It is going to be GREAT!
