No Time To Be Neutral
By Pastor Justin Cooper
My daddy used to keep an old work truck in the yard that wouldn't crank if you didn't turn the key just right. Half-on wouldn't do it. You either committed and turned, or you sat there in the driveway going nowhere.
A lot of people are living half-on with Jesus.
They know the songs. They like the church people. They'll show up Christmas and Easter. They'll even nod when the preacher gets to preaching. But they're sitting in the driveway. Engine off. Key half-turned. Going nowhere.
Brother, listen — that's not going to hold the day Jesus comes back.
"He is not coming to die, but coming to kill. He's not coming to redeem. He's coming to rule. He's not coming as a lamb. He is coming as a lion."
That's a triplet you can't shake.
First time He came, He was meek. He was quiet. He let them spit on Him and didn't open His mouth. He bled for you. He bled for me.
This time? Revelation 19:11 says the heavens open and there's a white horse, and the One sitting on Him is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war.
Did you catch that?
He's not coming to make peace. He's coming to make war.
And every soul that has stayed half-turned in the driveway will be left on the FireStarterMay21.rtf wrong side of the door.
Pastor Cooper said it Sunday night and I haven't been able to shake it:
"Jesus could come back tonight. What if He did?"
Have you ever sat with that question for longer than ten seconds?
What if He did?
Would your kids know where you stood? Would your coworker know what you believed? Would the neighbor across the street remember a single conversation where you told him about Jesus? Would the wife on the other side of the bed know you were saved?
You and I don't have the luxury of being neutral about this. Not anymore.
Here's the next step today. Not next week. Today.
If you've never been saved — settle it. Call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. There's no formula. There's no fancy prayer. There's a Savior, and there's you, and there's right now.
If you are saved — tell somebody before sundown. One person. A text. A phone call. The lady at the gas station. The cousin you've been meaning to check on for six months. The kid at the ball game. One person. Today.
The King is coming. Stop sitting in the driveway.
Turn the key.
Lord Jesus, You're coming back. I believe it. I don't want to be ashamed at Your appearing. Light a fire in me today. Put one name on my heart, and give me the courage to say something before the sun goes down. In Your name, amen.
Action step: Write down the name of one person God just put on your heart. Reach out to them today — text, call, in person. Don't wait until you have the perfect words.
