Going Forward for the Glory of God

We were saved to move, called to advance, and commanded to go forward by faith.

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark…”
— Philippians 3:13–14

I don’t want to die for God.
I don’t want to stagnate for God.
I don’t want to stay the same for God.
I don’t want to become complacent in the work of God.

I want to go forward for the glory of God.

That desire has been burning in my heart. Not reckless ambition — but holy resolve. The understanding that God did not place His church here merely to exist, to survive, or to wait quietly until the end. He placed us here for a reason and with a purpose.

FORWARD REQUIRES RESOLVE

There will always be opposition. There will always be voices that want to throw a wet blanket on the fire. Some want to slow things down. Others want to hit the brakes entirely. But opposition has never been proof that God is not at work — often it is evidence that He is.

Moving forward requires a decision. Not emotion. Not convenience. Resolve.

FORWARD REQUIRES FAITH

Faith believes God still wants to work.
Faith believes God still wants to save.
Faith believes God still wants to revive His people.

God did not call His church to sit idle. He did not leave us here just to maintain tradition or protect comfort. He left us here to advance His cause, proclaim His truth, and glorify His name.

FORWARD REQUIRES FIRE

Fire unsettles complacency.
Fire exposes apathy.
Fire demands movement.

God has a church here for a reason. And God would be pleased if His people resolved — by faith — that they will not settle, stall, or shrink back.

A SIMPLE RESOLUTION

Not backward.
Not idle.
Not comfortable.

But forward.

Forward in faith.
Forward in obedience.
Forward for the glory of God.
